Také tam žije velká menšina východoasiatů a kvůli malé vzdálenosti od San Diega a levnějšímu bydlení i značná část imigrantů ze Spojených států. Obyvatelé jsou hlavně mestici, většinou imigranti z jiných států Mexika, a nebo stejně jako ve většině severních mexických státech Mexičané evropského původu. Přes 75 % lidí žije v hlavním městě, nebo Tijuaně. Stát má 3 154 174 obyvatel (podle sčítání lidu roku 2010), což je mnohem více než řídce obydlený Baja California Sur na jihu a zhruba stejně jako San Diego County na severu. K Baja California patří i několik mexických ostrovů - např. Na západě od něho se rozléhá Tichý oceán, na východě Sonora, americký stát Arizona a Kalifornský záliv, na jihu Baja California Sur a na severu americký stát Kalifornie. Má rozlohu 71 450 km², což je 3,60 % rozlohy Mexika. Je to nejsevernější a nejzápadnější z těchto států. Baja California, oficiálně Estado Libre y Soberano de Baja California (do češtiny volně přeloženo jako Svobodný a suverénní stát Dolní Kalifornie) je jeden ze 31 států, které spolu s hlavním městem Ciudad de México tvoří federativní republiku Mexiko.Law of Rights and Products of the State of Baja California Sur, Article 20, Section III.Law that regulates Professional Real Estate Agents in the State of Baja California Sur.Those legal entities whose commercial activities are not real estate transactions are also exempt of the compulsory license, as long as the transactions are of assets of their property. Real Estate Transaction is defined as: The act of intermediation, tending to the conclusion of a contract of sale, lease, share-cropping, donation of assets, gratuitous loan, trust, or any other contract to transfer ownership, use or usufruct of real estate, as well as the promotion, administration, marketing and consulting of the same. Natural persons and Legal persons carrying out real estate transactions in assets that are their property are exempted of the compulsory license and they shall not be bound in terms of this Law. Their experience and expertise of subjects related to the real estate activity must be proved to be accredited by public or private education institutions. The recognition and dissemination of the professionalization of those who carry out real estate activities in the State will be public through a State Register of Professional Real Estate Agents who have been licensed and who have complied with the requirements. This guarantees the legal security in Real Estate transactions of the estate for both parties involved in the transaction, the one entrusted and those who invest in real estate through any legal entity. The main objective of the Law that regulates Real Estate Professional Agents in the State of Baja California Sur, is to regulate real estate activities carried out in the State by professional agents.
